The Draft is now less than two months away (first round is Thursday April 26th) and with the combine in the rearview mirror and Pro Days on the horizon – draft stocks will rise and fall like the Dow Jones over the next 50 days. Today we present one of the more in-depth first round mock drafts that we have come across. NFLDraftCountdown.com provides a detailed analysis for each of their 32 picks and like most of the universe they predict the Rams trade out of the #2 pick (Washington lands RG3 in this mock).
With the combine now in the rearview mirror for the skill position players – a few players like Georgia Tech WR Stephen Hill and Miami RB Lamar Miller are sure to see their draft stocks soar following elite forty times.Today we present a mock draft from one the more established draft resources on the planet in Ourlads.com. They produced their first draft guide back in 1983 and remain one of the more respected draft resources (slightly more credible than Mel Kiper but that’s not saying much). As an added bonus this mock draft includes the forty times for each draft prospect.
Today we present a First Round Mock Draft from RealSportsHype.com that has multiple early selections that I am on board with. Minnesota and St Louis will be fielding trade calls up until they are on the clock on April 26th but if they stay at #2 / #3 – addressing two of the weaker O-line’s in the league should take priority. Matt Kalil (USC) and Riley Reiff (Iowa) are both viewed as legit LT prospects at the next level and would be welcomed additions for QBs Sam Bradford and Christian Ponder.
Wes Bunting (NationalFootballPost.com) takes NFL draft scouting to a new level. In our mind he’s one of the more credible Pre-Draft resources available. Wes’ most recent First Round Mock that was updated today has QB Ryan Tannehill going to Miami at #9 and RB Trent Richardson heading south to Tampa (Legarrette Blount dynasty owners won’t be happy).
Evan Silva (Rotoworld) produces one of our favorite pieces during the football season as each week he analyzes each NFL matchup position by position to provide his take on which players will excel and which will have tough sledding. Today we came across Evan’s mock draft and it has multiple outside the box selections – namely three QBs going in the top 6 picks (including Texas A&M’s Ryan Tannehill landing in DC with Mike Shanahan).
With the 2012 NFL combine just over two weeks away (starts Feb 22nd) – Today we present an interesting Mock Draft from NFL Draft Room that has three RB selected in the first round by teams (KC, Chicago, and Houston) that have established RBs already on their rosters.
Today we present a First Round Mock Draft from DraftDebacled.com that not only provides draft selections but also offers up a few alternatives for each team. As this mock draft points out – many things can change between now and April 26th based on combine performances and free agent signings (open season starts March 13th).
Perhaps no draft in recent memory will see as much potential posturing among the top 5 picks as St Louis (#2) and Minnesota (#3) are sure to have their phone lines busy with multiple teams looking to trade up to land Robert Griffin III (some draft experts I’ve seen actually have him ranked ahead of Andrew Luck – but they are in the minority). Today we present a first round Mock draft from NFLFutures.com that was updated within the last few hours and has Washington’s Mike Shanahan trading up to the #2 spot to land RG3.
