NEWS: provides their take on why the longer the lockout drags on , the higher Knowshon Moreno’s fantasy stock will rise. Denver’s rushing offense ranked 26th in 2010 averaging a pedestrian 97 YPG and John Fox is well aware that adding depth to their RB corps is advisable to extend Moreno’s career (12th pick overall in 2010).

John Fox’s offenses generally employ at least 50% rushing as compared to the pass happy apporach employed by prior Denver coach Josh McDaniels.

ProFootballFocus has Knowshon Moreno as their #16 ranked fantasy RB for 2011 making him a high end RB2 with even greater value in dynasty leagues.

FantasyFootballExtreme has Moreno at #43 overall in their NonPPR Redraft Rankings.

First year coach was rumored to covet an additional RB to pair with Knowshon in a 2-headed committee similar to the one he employed with Deangelo and J-Stew in Carolina.

Deangelo Williams was originally thought to be a potential candidate to reunite with Fox in Denver but recent reports expect that a new CBA could make Williams a restricted free agent (likely keeping him in Carolina). Denver also didn’t add to their RB depth via the draft meaning that the 23 year old Moreno could be given every chance to dominate carries as he enters his 3rd NFL season.

In two NFL seasons, the Georgia alum has averaged 214 carries for 863 yards (4 YPC) with 12 TDs. He remains an asset in PPR leagues as Moreno has averaged 33 catches for 292 yards (21 YPG). Provided the Broncos don’t add competition via free agency, Moreno should be drafted in rounds 4/5 as a RB with the potential to produce borderline RB1 numbers if he can stay healthy (missed three games in 2010 with a rib injury).
