NEWS

New uniform, same old story.  Marion Barber has been ruled for the Bears week one contest against the Falcons.  Barber has a well documented history of injuries but the team still felt comfortable enough to let veteran back up Chester Taylor walk.  The #2 RB for the Bears on Sunday will be Kahlil Bell, who got exactly zero carries in 2010.

VIEWS

The expert rankings at NFL.com have Matt Forte as the #12 RB for week one.  Two experts have him at 13 and two at 14 and that somehow equals 12.

WalterFootball.com has Forte a bit higher at #9 overall and they say he should do well despite an improve D for the Falcons.

FANTASY FOOTBALL SPIN

Any game that Barber doesn’t play is good news for Forte owners because it increases the liklihood that Forte gets the goal line action.  Forte is a guy that should probably never be on your bench when he’s healthy.  Barber is still the guy to have as a handcuff, but we don’t think he’s a very important handcuff.  If Forte goes down owners that have him, as well as the Bears, are screwed.  Barber can’t stay healthy in a back up role so he’s not going to be able to carry the load if he has to fill in as the #1.
