Three rookie signal callers are projected to be selected in the first round on April 26th – although we still have our concerns with Ryan Tannehill as top 10 worthy. Andrew Luck’s fantasy outlook for 2012 is cloudy as he will be under center on a rebuilding Colts offense that could be missing their top 2 WRs (Garcon and Wayne are free agents).
Depending on where RG3 lands (Washington, Cleveland, Miami) – he seems like he might have a better chance at fantasy relevance in his first season. Regardless we don’t see any of the rookie QBs stepping in and having anywhere close to a Cam Newton sized impact.
Today we present Pryomaniac.com’s ranking for the top 25 QBs heading into the 2012 season. Speaking of Newton - his dual threat ability makes him a top 5 fantasy QB in our minds with the potential for more if Carolina gives him an NFL caliber WR opposite Steve Smith. The depth at the position is evidenced by the fact that the leading producer in 2010 now sits at #10 as Mike Vick will look to redeem himself after a disappointing 2011 (could be without deep threat Desean Jackson who could be shipped out despite getting the franchise tag).
