Much like in the stock market you never want to get caught up in the hype and buy at the ceiling – remember that Facebook IPO ?

Today we present an article form that cautions fantasy owners to slow their roll on some players that are getting a little too much hype.

One piece of strategy that we are completely on board with is tightening your purse strings when WRs come onto the auction board. This is the deepest position in fantasy football and solid value can be had outside the top 10. Rookie Julio Jones has unlimited potential but battled an ankle, hamstring and back injuries in his first season. We like him more than teammate Roddy White but the dynamic duo will likely keep each other from top 5 fantasy WR status.

Ryan Mathews seems to be a trendy breakout candidate now that Mike Tolbert has moved on to Carolina. In two seasons, the Fresno State alum has missed 6 games which should raise concern as to whether he can carry an inflated workload. Norv Turner has proclaimed Mathews as his new workhorse so 20-25 carries game are all but a lock provided he doesn’t break down by midseason. The sky is the limit but durability concerns have us targeting the Chargers new-found bell cow slightly lower than where his current ADP sits (#5 overall).
