but you may want to check out the deal with Witten first…

NEWS

Rolando McClain laid a mean hit on Jason Witten that has resulted in a spleen injury and internal bleeding, ouch.  It appears that surgery may not be needed but healing time surely will be and while he hasn’t been ruled out for week one we think you have to draft with that assumption.  Witten hasn’t missed a game since 2003 so there is no chance that he is going to milk this for more time.

FANTASY FOOTBALL SPIN

We’ve been advocates of waiting on TE if you miss out or choose not to invest a first or high second round pick on one of the top two TEs (Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham) rather than reaching for the next highest ranked TEs (Antonio Gates, Aaron Hernandez, Vernon Davis, and Jermichael Findley).  This doesn’t change that, as matter of fact it just means that rather than being able to get Witten in the late sixth or early seventh round you can get get him a round later probably.

There is no comparison between those top two TEs and the rest of the pack.  After those two Witten has a decent chance of keeping pace with anyone at the position and he can be had three to four rounds later than some of them.
