Ryan Mathews practiced again today and Chargers head coach Norv Turner raved about his practice performance.  Mathews owners should feel pretty confident considering Mathews was apparently ready to play last week but the Chargers played it safe.

Rotoworld has Mathews at #8 in their week 3 RB rankings.

The folks at ESPN aren’t quite that enthusiastic.  They project 80 total yards on 16 rushes and 2 receptions.  The also project one TD all placing him at #17 on their list.

Mathews should be licking his lips with this matchup.  The Falcons have already given up 4 TDs on the ground and 270 rushing yards over the first two games.  The one reason we urge Mathews owners to temper their enthusiasm is that Jackie Battle may share touches  as the Chargers try not to overwork Mathews in his first game of the season.  Battle performed well last week and that should gain him some trust.  All 100 fans that show up for the Chargers games should see plenty of Mathews though.  We expect around 20 total touches against a Falcons defense that hasn’t stopped the run yet.  Mathews is a guy that should be in your starting lineup for week 3.

If anything changes we will post it ASAP.
