NEWS
Brown’s ankle injury is most likely going to preclude him from playing in week 10. That opens the door for Emmanuel Sanders, who has finally managed to stay healthy and looks likes a quality replacement. So, we have more less-than-classy Emmanuel Sanders behavior to look forward to (very un-Steelerlike actually) like every 3 yard reception is something to go be celebrated.
VIEWS
Jamison Hensley of ESPN talks about the task the Steelers have in replacing Brown’s presence over the middle but points out that Mike Wallace proved his more than capable of that with his long TD against the Giants.
FFToday.com has Mike Wallace at #15 and Emmanuel Sanders at #49 in their Week 10 WR rankings.
FantasyTrade411.com has glowing things to say about Sanders in their waiver wire recommendations article. They believe he has WR1 talent and is the second best WR pick up option behind Andre Roberts.
FANTASY FOOTBALL SPIN
As bad as the Chiefs have been they are still middle of the pack against the pass. They are giving up 22 fantasy points per game to opposing receivers (16th in NFL). Sanders is a real talent and we think that most expert sites are under estimating him, either that or they are playing it safe by keeping him low in their rankings. Sanders may show enough to make the Steelers comfortable in letting Mike Wallace and his unrealistic salary demands sign elsewhere in the offseason. He is a great short term pick up if you need a starter this week. We like him as a WR3 with upside.
